In the last half of 2025, more than 92% of all Hothouse orders have been pre-assembled. That’s too much for a one-man assembly line*. But moreover, it goes against the original intent of the Hothouse: to make DSP programming more accessible while fostering a love of DIY and learning.
If soldering and DIY kits aren’t your jam, that’s cool. Please consider buying the DIY Kit anyway, and ask a friend with the right tools and experience to help you assemble it. Better yet, find a Makerspace in your area (or start at your local library); there are awesome people there who will help you. I promise. You might even have fun while learning a new skill and making new friends. None of which is ever a bad thing.
Thanks for understanding this position, but more than that, thanks for seeing the Hothouse DIY Kit as part of a fulfilling educational journey rather than another gadget to buy.
Cheers and be well,
Ricky
